The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies – Extended Edition
Rated R

Formats available: 3D BD, BD, DVD, VOD
The extended version of the third Hobbit movie features 20 minutes of new footage, much of it R-rated battle scenes with plenty of blood and gore (though the rest of the movie appears unaltered in violence). Also worthwhile for the nine and a half hours of appendices to complete the Jackson extended edition experience.

It’s a bit expensive, but there is no finer director of animation from Japan, featuring some of the most endearing work to come out of Studio Ghibli.
